Terms of Service
By using AlphaBack you agree to what follows. The short version: this is a simulation tool, it is free during beta, it can be wrong, and you are responsible for what you do with its output.
AlphaBack is not financial advice. Every number this product shows you is a simulation over historical data. A strategy that performed well in a backtest can lose money in live markets, and frequently does. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell any security. Do not trade real capital on the basis of an AlphaBack result alone.
1. The service
AlphaBack takes a trading strategy described in plain English, uses a large language model to generate Python that expresses it, runs that code against historical market data, and reports the result. It is a research and education tool. It does not connect to a broker, hold funds, or execute trades.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 16 to use AlphaBack. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for everything done under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to break out of the code execution sandbox, escalate privileges, or reach systems or data that are not yours.
- Use the strategy prompt to generate code whose purpose is unrelated to backtesting.
- Automate requests at a volume that degrades the service for others, or work around rate limits.
- Resell or redistribute the service as your own product.
- Use AlphaBack to violate any law, or any market-data license that applies to you.
We may suspend or terminate access for any of the above, and we do not have to warn you first.
4. AI-generated code
The Python AlphaBack writes is produced by a language model. It may misinterpret your strategy, contain bugs, or silently do something different from what you described. Read the generated code. It is shown to you for exactly that reason. You are responsible for verifying it before you rely on any result derived from it.
5. Market data
Historical prices come from Yahoo Finance. That data may contain gaps, errors, unadjusted splits, or survivorship bias. We do not own it, we do not warrant it, and we cannot correct it. If your use of that data is subject to a licence between you and its provider, complying with that licence is your responsibility.
6. Beta, availability, and changes
AlphaBack is in beta and free to use. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it, including plans and pricing, at any time. We do not promise any level of uptime, and backtests may fail, time out, or return nothing. Features described as “coming soon” are statements of intent, not commitments.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of the strategies you write. You grant us only the licence needed to operate the service: to store your strategy, send its text to our model provider to generate code, run that code, and show you the result. We do not use your strategies to train models and we do not sell them.
8. Our intellectual property
The AlphaBack name, interface, and underlying software remain ours. Nothing in these terms transfers that to you. The Python code generated from your prompt is yours to use, copy, and modify freely.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
AlphaBack is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any result it produces is accurate.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any trading losses, lost profits, or lost opportunity, arising from your use of AlphaBack. Because the service is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you is limited to one hundred US dollars (USD 100).
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case the exclusions above apply to you only as far as that jurisdiction permits.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and costs arising from your misuse of the service or your breach of these terms.
12. Termination
You may stop using AlphaBack and delete your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend your access if you breach these terms. Sections 4, 5, and 9 through 11 survive termination.
13. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use AlphaBack after a change means you accept the revised terms. If you do not, stop using the service.
